That’s it! I keep hearing so much lately about homemade bread…I’m breaking out my stainless steel bread bowl…the one that’s all pock marked with dents from marbles being whirled around in it back in the ’80s.
Is there a better fragrance in a home in the fall?
I love the feel of working with the dough…kneading by [...]

At this very moment, there is a critical need for prayer for the safety of our troops in Afghanistan. Whether or not you feel we should be there is not the issue. God is waiting for us to cry out to Him for HIS intervention. He knows what needs to happen and it needs to happen [...]

He drove our rental van. My husband sat next to him in the front passenger seat, and I sat in the bucket seat behind hubby. The photo shows the view beside me. …our son’s carry ons for his deployment to the Middle East. Looking at it caused my heart to ache beyond words

Came home from NC and discovered three little robin heads peeking from the nest under our front porch eaves.
Yesterday one decided to try his wings…
…and became a victim to the neighbor’s cat last night. Hero tried to rescue it but, alas, the damage was done.
Just now I heard a clunk! on our front [...]

My mother pretty much raised us eight kids by herself because Dad spent most of those years in and out of the hospital. That meant Mom was really busy.
Barely eye-level with the table, I observed her kneading bread and rolling out pie crust. I watched my mom can peaches, raspberries, and applesauce. I held my nose [...]

Couldn’t have asked for more perfect conditions. The “Wings Over Wayne” (county) Air Show was spectacular. Sky was clear. Temp was high 80s, sweat-soaked-clothing weather. And the UVA/UVB rays served up a mess o’ southern vitamin D.
We did indeed slather on the SPF 30, over and over. It worked great wherever we [...]

Yes, I’m tagging along with the guys again. Very joyfully. Been doing that for almost 29 years, and this event looks like a blast! Besides, what mom doesn’t love being [...]

Every parking spot was taken…so people walked toward the gathering…crossing a bridge over the Cedar River.
People made their statements through a variety of methods.
Having greatly under-estimated, the Tea Party organizers were stunned by the turnout.
Americans in every age bracket peacefully made their point.
This was in the middle of the day when most people are not available [...]
