the smell of fresh baked bread and.......the smell of an apple pie in the oven :-)
You've been quiet of late. Have you been traveling, or do you have a lot of other stuff on your heart? Micaela and I came up with an idea last week in regard to you and bread making. I'll let her spring it on you :-) DM

Hi Meg

Often the problem is not just kneading it enough but not leaving it long enough to prove (don't know if that is an english english word or not or whether you use it in America too but it is the time for the dough to rise). No matter how long it takes leave it to double in size, if the house is cool it could take a long time, I have even left them in the fridge overnight to cook in the morning.

Best place to make bread is definitely along the Rockies, my bread was so light when I lived there due to the altitude.

Those look DELICIOUS! I've tried making some homemade bread, but it turned out pretty dense, not light and fluffy. Probably because I wasn't kneading it enough??? But yours looks amazing!

I didn't realize he was being deployed either. Bless all your hearts, Grace! It's good to read a post to know what's going on and know how to pray. And yes, technology to keep in touch with loved ones these days is such a gift!

Grace,

I had no idea your son was being deployed. As a mom to three sons I can feel your pain, yet not really. I just left my oldest son in St. Louis, MO, but I can talk to him daily, and even visit him occasssionally. Nothing like the sacrifice you have given in sending your brave son off to defende my freedom. Thank you and bless you and your hero. I will keep your family in my prayers.
