A is for Autumn Apples

Apple Season

Apple Season

Thursday we made our annual trek to the Sunrise Apple Orchards in Gays Mills, Wisconsin.  First of all, the drive itself is well worth the trip.  I’m kind of glad people think Iowa is nothing but pigs and corn fields, because if they saw the cliffs, valleys, and rolling hills, and the breathtaking autumn colors, Eastern Iowa wouldn’t be one of America’s best kept secrets anymore.

  1. I’m jealous. That would be fun!

  2. We did our annual trek to the Indian Creek orchard this year, unfortunately without Matthew. But did get lots of wonderful apples for the wonderful apple sauce, and apple pie filling. Thank you so much for that recipe, it has become a staple here in the great white north. Not only for apple pies, or apple crisp, but warmed and put over french vanilla ice cream, that is what kind of God we have!!!!
